I will need several blog posts to cover all our summer adventures, but here are a few to start:
*Our local library had a "Hands On Truck" Event. There were about 20 different trucks from the community for the kids to climb on and pretend to drive and explore. Alex's favorite was the fire truck and Brodie's was the big green tractor. The police motorcycle was a close second for both of them.

Brodie lasts about 10 minutes and then he was playing with his trucks in the dirt.
Alex eats as many as he picks.
*We love to go out to Grand Haven. We have spent many afternoons at the beach. There have also been some other fun activities going on this summer too.
One afternoon we ventured downtown to the craziness that is the Coast Guard Festival. We went and saw the big Coast Guard Ships, got an ice cream cone at my favorite spot and then went to the carnival. The boys played a few games and went on a couple of rides. Alex loved it all. Brodie liked all of it except one ride that was too fast and bumpy and he wanted off after about 3 laps, but had to endure the whole 10 lap ride.
Brodie loved the train ride and got to sit in the front and steer.
Alex was not impressed when I asked him to ride the "baby" ride with Brodie and was even more unimpressed when he did not get to sit in a seat with a steering wheel:
Carnival Games - any thing with guns is a hit:
*Pirate Week. This week is Pirate Week in Grand Haven. We first went on a Treasure Hunt. We had to follow our map to various stores and pick up our "clues"/pirate cards at each store. Once we had collected them all we returned them to the library for our treasure (a pirate coin bag filled with necklaces, tattoos and gold coins).
