It's Christmas Time Again

As we established earlier, Alex was very spoiled this Christmas and got LOTS of new toys. Auntie Dana had a good idea to put some toys away and gradually bring them out so we could keep having new toys to play with and explore. This week we have been playing with the school bus - a very big hit!

Alex discovered a new sound last week and loves to practice saying it all day long. He is hard to catch on video though - this is not the greatest video as he got distracted by his toy, but you can hear him say "dada" early in the video....

Long and Lean

We had our 6 month well visit at the pediatrician today. We are blessed that Alex continues to be a very healthy baby. He was very charming and full of smiles and babbles for the doctor. He barely made a fuss for his shots - the nurse couldn't believe he didn't scream.

Here are his stats:

Weight: 17 lbs 4 oz - 50%
Height: 27.75 inches - 95%
Head: 44.75 - 75%

Happy 6 Months Old Today!

I can't believe our baby is already 6 months old. It has gone so fast and he has changed so much.

Here is a look back at the last six months...

We have our 6 month appointment next week so I will post weight and height then.

Here is what is up with Alex at 6 months old:

He is sitting up unassisted, but still tips over when reaching for toys, etc.


He will reach his arms up to the sky if we say "up"

He can finally roll both ways. After rolling from front to back at 3 months old, we weren't sure he would ever roll from back to front, probably because he is not that motivated to be on his stomach.

He is exploring with a sippy cup. He pretty much gums it as a teething tool right now.


He just started sucking on his bottom lip and looks like a grandpa who forgot his dentures.


He continues to be a happy little boy. Always quick to smile and laugh.

He is eating solid foods, his repertoire is slowly expanding and basically includes only oatmeal and prunes right now.

He loves Buddy. We can say "where's the puppy?" and he will look around for him.

He sleeps 10-11 hours at night and is slowly becoming a better napper after a recent nap strike, but napping is still not always his favorite thing to do!

Lunch Date

Alex and I are so excited that my friend,Jaime, decided to stay at home with her baby - Hastings - YEAH- lots of weekly play dates. We met for lunch today and Jaime had her camera - she got a great picture of Alex's big blue eyes...

Breakfast Time with Daddy

Daddy got in on the breakfast action this weekend.... mmmmm....yummy...cereal and prunes.

And of course, wherever Daddy is, Buddy must be also....

Thoughts on 'bama football

One word to describe 'bama's win on Thursday night......unsatisfying.

Can we have a rematch with a healthy Colt McCoy? Is that too much to ask?

Packin' our bags

Julie, pack our bags, we're moving to Florida. Its clearing too cold in 'bama. I've found a job as the HR Manager at Joe's Fish Taco Stand in Key West.

Seriously!!! Feels like living in MI again.....grumble, grumble.

Peek-A-Boo

Alex's new favorite trick the past couple of weeks is to put everything over his head - blankets, toys, his hands, etc.... Here is a video of him "playing" peek-a-boo... or so we like to pretend ;)

High Chair

Alex has graduated to sitting in his highchair for meals. He looks so little in the big highchair - but he loves sitting in it.

Alex is telling you that he is SOOO BIG now ;)...
