2nd Week in Michigan

Eric flew back to Alabama after our first week in Michigan and Alex and I stayed for an additional week. Alex pretty much spent all day, every day outside enjoying the beautiful weather. I was able to catch up with a lot of friends and we went to parks, pools, the beach, etc. Unfortunately I somewhat slacked on my picture taking the second week...but here are a few moments....

Alex logged several miles through my parent's neighborhood pushing Papa's edger...


And spent many hours playing "tennis" with Grandma...

Alex loved spending so much time with all of his cousins...but he definitely had a special little attachment to Eli....

The Farm!

On Friday, we took Alex to Eric's Aunt's and Uncle's Farm. All the cousins went along and Alex thought it was great fun - especially driving all the big tractors!

We fed chickens and collected eggs...

Checked out the cows...from a distance and up close and personal. Alex thought they were great until one licked his shirt....

Michigan Vacation

We spent the later part of last week with Eric's family. Alex got to play some more with all of his cousins and all of their cool toys.

Alex loved Chloe and she was so sweet to him!


Eric's brother is a policeman and Alex loved checking out his police car, but was a little unsure about the sirens...

We celebrated Alex and Kasjen's birthday with some cupcakes and presents!


Alex loved staying at Grampy and Grammy's house - and especially loved the ride-on lawnmower....


I don't know how to load videos from my parent's computer, but we definitely have some great videos to add when I get home!

The Vacation Continues

On Tuesday and Wednesday we were in Grand Haven. We have been spending our full days outside and are NOT missing the heat of Alabama at all!!

Alex loves to help Grandma weed in her garden...


Eric and I took Alex downtown every morning to walk the boardwalk, check out the boats, get ice cream, and play on playgrounds, etc.


It was Coast Guard Festival week in Grand Haven, so we got to see the big Coast Guard ships.

On Wednesday afternoon, Alex and I joined my good friend Sara and her children at the beach. Alex loved hanging out with the big kids. (Eric was getting in one of his many rounds of golf :))

More Michigan

On Monday we spent the day with Eric's family.

Alex thought we took him to the most amazing play area ever! His cousin's garage is full of ride on toys and Alex just didn't know which one to try first. The tractors were some of the favorites...

After playing outside we headed to the pool. They have a great zero entry kiddie pool that Alex loved playing in.

Summer Vacation - Part 1

We just finished spending a week in Michigan visiting our family and friends. Eric is back in Alabama this week and Alex and I are spending an additional week in MI. We had a great and very busy week of vacation.

We drove in on Saturday, July 30. The drive went well and Alex did awesome - the 6 hours of Curious George viewing definitely helped! We spent Saturday night at my (Julie's) parents and Eric's parents came over to spend time with us as well.

We spent Sunday in Grand Haven. We started the day by walking the boardwalk and pier. Alex loved watching all the boats and we let him run down the middle of the pier which was great fun!


It was a picture perfect day, so we headed out to the beach for the remainder of the day. Alex loved digging in the sand and had so much fun playing with his cousins at the beach.

Snack time with Isaac - Isaac is saying "please keep your sand to yourself" :)

Back at the house - more fun with cousins...at dinner Alex just kept saying "Eli" over and over - he just loved his big cousins!



Tyler is Cake Boss Jr. - and he made this awesome cake for Eric's upcoming birthday... Eric was thrilled as he LOVES to celebrate his birthday ;)
