I need to catch up on blogging but I went to upload pictures and realize that there has been a very serious lack of picture taking the past couple of weeks.

So, here is what has been going on lately - in more words than pictures.

BRODIE JON -
Brodie is 3 months old. He is the sweetest little guy. He just talks and laughs and smiles when he is awake. He is so content and easy going.

His sleeping habits are inconsistent. We went through weeks of great nights - 7-9 hour stretches between feedings. Then we had a couple of bad nights of waking 2x/night to eat and now we are somewhere in the middle. He is back to doing 7-8 hour stretches, but he is a very restless sleeper and napper and is waking up quite a bit and needing pats to go back to sleep. It appears to be mostly discomfort due to gas, he is seriously the gassiest baby I have ever seen and it does cause him some distress at night. We are trying some different things and hopefully he outgrows this soon.

Brodie has finally stopped screaming during Tummy Time, but still does not really like it and has had enough after about 5 minutes.

I put Brodie on his stomach for naps this weekend and he is napping somewhat better now.

Brodie loves to put his fingers/fists and toys in his mouth and is a drooling mess lately. It has become time for bibs.

Brodie loves to be outside - facing out and just watching everything.

Brodie loves to be sung too and Eensy Weensy Spider is his current favorite.



His favorite toy is a VTech book that we got as a gift.

He no longer just naps in his car seat when we are out and about - he is too aware of what is going on and likes to look all around.

Brodie loves his soft fleecy blanket - if we put it by his face he just snuggles right into it and closes his eyes and goes to sleep. I am ready for when he can keep it in his bed to snuggle with - it definitely helps him self soothe back to sleep.

The boy is definitely not starving - love his chunky thighs (Alex is not sleeping - but Time Changes definitely mess with him) -

ALEX JON -
Is totally and completely obsessed with golf right now. He plays it for hours a day. We have started walking to our neighborhood playground to play golf. Alex brings a club and "hard" golf balls, which he thinks is so cool. And he will hit golf balls all around the soccer field and play ground. At home he plays with wiffle balls in the yard. It is all he talks about and all he wants to do. He woke up from his nap the other day mumbling about putters and drivers. He will watch golf with Eric and talk about what clubs they are using and about hitting it on the green.

"Tell me that story" - is the most common phrase lately. Alex loves to have us tell him stories. I often tell him stories while I nurse Brodie. I have blogged before about the "Bob stories" that Eric tells him. Now, Alex tells us what stories to tell him - he will say - "Momma Bob goes to the golf course, yeah tell me that story". The most popular stories lately are Bob going to Dicks (Sporting Goods - Alex's favorite store), Bob goes to a big golf course, and stories involving Zurg.

That leads me to Zurg. He is the bad guy in Toy Story. Alex is very into pretend play with Zurg lately. We have to look all over for Zurg and then Alex zaps him with his laser.

Alex cracks us up with how he puts things together and rationalizes things. He has a lot of hand me downs from his cousin- Kasjen. So, we will call some of his things - Kasjen's coat or Kasjen's shoes when he wears them. The other morning Alex was asking to go outside and play golf at 7am and I said it was too cold and windy outside. He said "Kasjen can't play outside today either", when I asked him why not he said, "It is windy outside and I have Kasjen's coat" :).

Grandma (Julie's mom) came for a visit. As always she slaved away and was a huge help. This visit she Old Englished the kitchen cupboards and they look amazing! She spent hours outside and at the playground with Alex and he loved every minute of it. Brodie got lots of cuddle and play time with Grandma too. And Eric and I even got a date night out. Thanks Mom - you are welcome back ANYTIME ;).

We had Dairy Queen when Grandma was here - Alex got to pick whatever he wanted and picked a big ice cream cookie/sandwich and he ate every last bite...
