19 Months

Our little man turned 19 Months Old yesterday...he is just inching his way to being a 2 year old way too fast!


Here's what he is up to these days...

Talking! Alex is talking more and more every day. Although I think only Eric and I could decipher half of his words and understand what he is referring too! He refers to a lot of objects by their function - i.e. saws and scissors are "cut", hammers are "pound", etc. He still uses mostly single words, but is starting to say a few two word combinations - "fix it", "golf club", "new shoes" (he LOVES his new shoes).

Alex likes to have the same "conversations" over and over every day and it is funny to watch him put everything together. For example, Eric made Alex scrambled eggs this weekend, so now anytime he sees his play eggs or a picture of eggs he has to say "egg, daddy, hot" and I have to acknowledge that yes, daddy cooks the eggs and makes them hot. When Eric gets home Alex has to tell him all about his day, lately, no matter what we really did, it is always "Stastings, ball" ----which means he played with Hastings at the ball place (Kidventure).

LOVES his Daddy....Check out these pictures...he is just in awe watching Eric ;)...


He loves his little friends and asks for them now when we go places that he has played with them or plays with toys that make him think of them.

He is all about the big chairs at the kitchen table and "Alex sit" in them all the time - but really he likes to stand :). Here is a picture that shows off his new big boy hair cut too...


Alex still absolutely loves outside. He will push and pull anything and just loves to walk around and explore.

Alex is a little imitator and has to do EVERYTHING that Daddy does. Here is an example...(Eric is really just training Alex to do all of his chores for him!)


Alex is still a great eater. His favorite food right now is blueberries - he would eat a whole carton if I let him. He is doing great using his utensils to eat.

Alex is still quite easy going and well behaved for the most part. Don't get me wrong, he is into everything and gets into things he knows he is not suppose to, but he is very easy to redirect and not a big tantrum thrower. Usually when he gets in trouble it has something to do with Buddy - hitting him with something or just "loving" him too much. We have started using Time Out a few times. Alex gets the idea to sit on the "time out rug", but I still think that he thinks it is more of a fun game than a punishment at this point ;).
