15 Month Stats

We had our slightly belated 15 Month Well Visit last week and I just realized I forgot to post Alex's stats...so here they are....

Weight - 25 pounds - 50th percentile
Height - 32 1/2 inches - 75th - 90th percentile
Head - 48 1/2 cm - 75th - 90th percentile

Alex is healthy and doing great and everything is where he should be. He did great for the doctor, just watched him seriously during the exam , but even offered a few smiles here and there. Once again, we are just so thankful for our healthy boy!

15 MONTHS

Last week while we were in Michigan, Alex turned 15 months old. Here is what our active little boy is up to these days....

Talking: Here are his new words/sounds this month...
Alex says "juice", "cheese", "papa" (Grandpa), "pop", "beep", "shoes", "uh oh" and "up".
He calls Buddy - "buh buh"
He calls Elmo "la la"

He also says several word/sounds if you ask him what something says:
Sheep - "baa baa"
Bears/Lions/Tigers - "rrrr"
Monkeys - oooh oooh

He also signs "please" when he wants something and can make the sign for "milk".

Imitator: Alex attempts to copy everything that he sees us or big kids do...
A few examples -

He claps his hands at Buddy when we yell at him to come.

Alex found a hose nozzle and went over the van to check the air pressure on the van tires like he has seen daddy do before....he put it on the valve and everything....

Another time he got the bucket and scrubby Eric uses to wash the cars and pretended to wash the van.

*Favorite Activities:
Playing in the Car -
Helping Daddy with all of his chores...

Anything outside - Alex is so happy to be outside and just be free to explore and walk around and check EVERYTHING out!

Alex continues to be a great eater - current favorite foods are cheese and grapes. He will stand at the fridge and say "cheese, cheese, cheese".

Is getting very good at following directions - i.e. - "go get your shoes", "get in your high chair", "put it in the box", "bring it to daddy", etc.

Alex is at such a fun stage and it is so much fun to watch him explore and see the world through his eyes. He is a sweet and loving little boy who never slows down!

MICHIGAN - Day 5

On Friday we got to spend the day with Aunt Ang, Kasjen, and Grammy. We went to a pumpkin patch. Once again, Alex just loves his cousin, Kasjen!!

Pumpkins, pumpkins, pumpkins....

This little city boy wasn't sure what to think of those chickens....

Alex was loving this HUGE tractor...

Again - just loved being with and copying Kasjen...

My favorite picture - after I took this picture Kasjen let go of Alex's hand and Alex walked back over to him and wanted to hold his hand again and then he started giving Kasjen hugs - it was so sweet.....

MICHIGAN - Day 4

On Thursday we went to the zoo with Grandma, Aunt Ang, Kasjen, and Grammy. Alex made his wide mouthed "awe" look several times at the big animals. He liked the monkeys, the fish, the penguins, and the bears the best. Alex was mostly just happy to be running around outside and following Kasjen around and copying whatever he did.

That afternoon Alex got to spend some time raking leaves with Papa (my dad)... (the adorable hat is hand knitted by my friend, Rebecca - THANK YOU!)

MICHIGAN - Day 3

Wednesday brought some rainy weather so our plans to go visit the farm had to be changed. We ended up taking Alex to a really neat indoor play area that focuses on children ages 0-3.

It was set up with all different areas/centers for the children to explore.

*Arts and Crafts Center ---

*Reading Corner ---

*Dress Up Area ---

*Play House/Kitchen Area---

*Music Area ---

*Car/Truck Area - every type of play car you could imagine and Alex's favorite...the motorcycle!!!

*Of course he had to push everything in sight - (don't worry Daddy - he pushed around a truck in the stroller, not a baby)....

Wednesday evening my whole family came to my parent's house for dinner. Here is Alex with his big cousins - Tyler and Eli....

MICHIGAN - Day 2

Another perfect Fall day in Michigan. I got to meet my friend, Betsy, for some shopping in the morning and my friend, Julie, for dinner and some long over due catching up. I was spoiled by having Grandma very willing to babysit. Alex loved playing outside and helping Grandma water her flowers....
